About Kendall: Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

I’m Kendall Schwartz, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in San Anselmo. I help children, teens, and adults move through trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions with warmth, compassion and authenticity. My approach blends Gestalt, EMDR, and Mindfulness, always tailored to your unique needs and strengths. And while the weight of being can sometimes feel burdensome, I also deeply believe in the healing and therapeutic power of humor to help you access some levity in the gravity.

A lover of all things nature, a humble student of life and motherhood, and a true practitioner of carpe diem, I bring my years of experience, humility, gratitude and guidance into my sessions to foster deep interpersonal relationships and connections with my clients.

In a world riddled with disconnect, discontentment and dissatisfaction, together, we’ll create a safe space for healing, growth, and reconnection with what matters most to you.

My Approach

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I tailor each session to meet you where you are, drawing from evidence-based methods as well as a warm, relational style. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow. In addition to the modalities mentioned below, I also value and incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt focuses on the here-and-now. By increasing awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the present moment, we can uncover patterns that no longer serve you. This approach helps you reconnect with your authentic self and build healthier ways of relating to others.

Equine Therapy

Sometimes, healing happens most naturally in connection with animals and the outdoors. In equine therapy, the relationship with horses provides opportunities for growth in self-awareness, boundaries, trust, and regulation. It can be especially powerful for deep intrapersonal work, those in recovery, couples, and anyone who feels drawn to experiential learning.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a powerful, research-supported therapy for trauma and distressing memories. It helps the brain reprocess painful experiences so they feel less triggering and overwhelming. Many clients experience relief, clarity, and a greater sense of freedom after EMDR work.
